Dr. Qingxin Ma is a professor in the Eco-Environment Research Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences (RCEES-CAS). He graduated from Beijing University of Science and Technology in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree, and from RCEES-CAS in 2010 with a doctorate degree. He has been an assistant researcher, associate researcher and professor of the RCEES-CAS and a teaching professor at the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was funded by “Xiangjiang Scholar” post-doctoral fellowship from 2015 to 2017 at Hong Kong Polytechnic University collaboration with Professor Tao Wang. He is a member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. His main research directions include the formation mechanism and dynamics of secondary particulate matter, aerosol hygroscopicity and optical properties, ozone formation mechanism and so on. He was responsible for the construction of the 30 m3 indoor smog chamber system of the RCEES-CAS as well as the application in the study of secondary particulate matter formation. He also constructed various in-situ reaction devices and hygroscopicity research methods, and discovered several new mechanisms in the interface process under the condition of complex air pollution conditions. The results provide scientific basis in revealing the causes of air pollution and haze in China. He has successively undertaken several projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. More than 60 papers have been published in Environ. Sci. Technol., Atmos. Chem. Phys. and other international journals.
